A large part of the storage industry depends on proprietary hardware, from drives and controllers to power supplies and JBODs. This dependence can make sourcing, repairing, and upgrading systems difficult and expensive.
Xendure uses commodity hardware rather than components tied to a specific manufacturer. Components can therefore be sourced from the general market and purchased or replaced at more competitive prices.
Commodity hardware also simplifies upgrades because newer hardware is typically available at more competitive prices and does not require proprietary vendor-specific concepts.
