Use disks with different capacities, models, types, and manufacturers in the same system

RAID controllers are sensitive to disk response characteristics and commonly depend on specific drive classes such as NearLine SAS or Enterprise SATA. Many arrays also require drives of the same type and capacity.

Xendure can use conventional, including Desktop, drives alongside other drives, and can combine disks from different manufacturers and with different capacities without the expected loss of performance caused by such restrictions.

New disks can be added and their capacity used without reconfiguring the system. Lower-capacity drives can also be gradually replaced with higher-capacity drives.
